Happy newyear!!!

The roadtrip to the southwest was really nice. In Aude her Toyota van we went down south and this is an area which is very green as it rains quite a lot over there. Lots of wineries, cheesefarms and articraft things. The landscape is really nice and the shoreline is just beautiful.

On chistmasday we first went to the beach, beautiful way to spend your christmasmorning I'll tell ya. After we had lunch (which lasted all day) at a friend of Aude. The dessert was an christmas cake, which is made out of cake and dried fruit and alcohol. People start to make it three months it advance. Very nice, but very heavy. Typical australian or maybe Englisch I don't now.

On boxing day (which is the second day of Christmas in Holland) we went for a little drive over to the biggest trees in Australia. They date back all the way to the Gondwana continent, which is a lonnnng time. They are enourmous. We went for a tree top walk over there.

We saw some more beaches and more friends of Aude. One morning we went for a canoe trip on the river, which has tigersnakes. They are supposed to be very agressive and poiseness but we did not see one. The canoe trip was very funny. The whole trip with Aude was fun. We had a good time together. She learned me some meditation skills......I will try to practise this more over the next weeks and hopefully I will be able to do it properly so that it actually works :-))

We did some winetasting: I tell you the honeywine is amazing! I DO actually like that one!

We arrived in Perth fridaynight and I went on my trip up north saturdaymorning.

I notice that I am not really concentrated and do not really have the patience to write something on my blog right now. But I will try to do my best to write some more. Pics do not work at the moment, computer does not recognize my camera or something....so those will follow later on.

I am in Kalbarri at the moment, where I will celebrate my newyear tonight, 8 hours ahead from Holland. So when it is 16.oo in Holland it will be midnight over here. I will be thinking off all of you...when I am drinking my way to sweet housewine over at the only pub Kalbarri has.....The ozzies, they drink alllllll day....so I am curious how that is like tonight......Probably wild.

This coastline is called the Batavia coast, as the Batavia shipwrecked over here. The first european foot in Australia has been set on the land at this place, they reckon.

I rent I bike today and will bike down the coast and find a secluded beach to swim.....and the rocks over here, the coastline is stunning!

Ok time for me to stop as this is not really working out the way I weant it to.
I wish you all a very, very nice night. I will think of you when you are doing your drinks in the afternoon at the 'oudjaarsborrel'. A tradition I will unfortunately not be able to attend this year :-)).

Mariska: think of me when you drink your Nobel. You now that, also without me, you will have to drink them! Do NOT break that tradition, you hear :-))

HAPPY NEWYEAR!!
