From Punta del Diablo in Uruguay to Florianopolis in Brazil, we have been on the road for 26 hours.....with a stop-over of 9 hours in Chuy. Right now we are on the island of Catharina, also called Floripa. It is very nice, for the first time we sat down on the beach and soaked up the sun...We also walked around in tropical forrest on a mountain where there are tarantula´s, fortunately we did not encounter any of them. However and unfortunately we did encounter lots of mosquitoes who felt not the least bothered by shirts with long sleeves.....the bloody bastards! I have got stings all over the body....and they slowely are turning into big red itchy spots.....I guess going up north will make it even worse....ah well.......
Today we will visit the northern part of the island, tomorrow Miriam and I will meet up with a friend of hers who lives here and we will visit the south part of the ilse...it is more quiet and pittoresque (here we go again) over there so I am looking forward to that. The last day over here we will spent in the city itself which is supposed to be very nice, also with colonial buildings and the whole nice yards.....more pics and info will follow in this entry.....keep on reading :-))
A couple of days later, we have seen the island and are very well taken care off by Miriam her friend Juliano and his novia (= girlfriend) Fabiana. We stayed in their appartment, had a very good breakfast every day and very nice company. Tomorrow (20 of June) we will move on to Foz de Iguacu. Another 14 hour busride but we will see one of the most impressive waterfalls of the world over there. From there on we will move further north to the Pantanal. More about that later.

Leuke foto's van jou! Vooral die met die man met baard en die geweldige gids(?) in de rainforest.
Leuk hoor dat jullie naar de waterval gaan. Onze reis in oktober met grote giftgevers heeft deze watervallen ook op het lijstje staan.
Gaat het ook goed met Ellepel???
